Using the appliances and equipment
Air conditioning / cooling and heating
You can control the room temperature with the white Fisher remote control. Please keep windows and doors closed while the air conditioning is running. All settings can be made with the remote control.
- The button with the red symbol on a white background (top left of the remote) switches the air conditioning on and off.
- Heating or cooling mode is always preset according to the season.
- Use the up and down arrows in the middle to set the desired temperature.
- The second button from the bottom on the left adjusts the fan speed. It is set to automatic by default and blows air at the strength needed to reach the desired temperature. (We recommend leaving it on this setting: it reaches the desired temperature fastest and then maintains it.)
Television
The TV is operated with the black SAMSUNG remote control. Switch it on with the button at the top left of the remote (red on/off symbol on a black background). You can browse the channels as usual. If you use the smart TV features, please log out of your own streaming accounts (e.g. Netflix) before departure. The Sweet.tv app is available on the TV for watching TV channels, films and cartoons.
Kitchen appliances
Hob
To switch the hob on or off, press and hold the main power button (the button on the far right) for 2 seconds. After switching on, select in the middle which cooking zone you want to use (lower, upper or both). Then use the + and – buttons to set the heat on a scale of 1 to 9 (1 is the lowest, 9 the highest). When you have finished cooking, switch the hob off with the off button on the right.
IMPORTANT: after switching off, the hob needs some time (depending on use) to cool down completely. An “H” flashes in the middle of the hob until it has cooled down; once it stops flashing, the hob is cool. This matters because food continues to cook after you switch the hob off, as the surface cannot cool down immediately.
Coffee machine
The coffee capsules are in the cylindrical box labelled “COFFEE” in the upper part of the kitchen cupboard, behind the glass doors. The coffee machine is always filled with distilled water; if it runs out, you will find a refill bottle in the cupboard under the sink. Only distilled water may be used in the coffee machine.
- Switch on the machine with the middle button on top. The power button starts flashing; when it stops, you can continue.
- Lift the lever in front of the buttons on top of the machine.
- Pull out the capsule holder using the handle at the top of the spout.
- Place your chosen capsule in the holder and put it back into the machine.
- Lower the lever.
- Press the right-hand button on top for a long coffee, or the left-hand button for an espresso. Your coffee will be ready in a few seconds.
- Switch the machine off with the middle button.
If you want to make several coffees in a row, you do not need to switch the machine off – simply start again from step 2.
Microwave
The control panel is on the right-hand side of the microwave. Open the door with the lowest button on the right. Set the cooking time with the round dial in the middle and the power with the upper dial. You can stop the microwave during operation with the door-release button, but it will continue once the door is closed until the dial reaches 0. If you have set too long a time, you can turn the dial back to 0 during operation – the microwave then switches off and will not restart when the door is closed.
Fridge
The fridge has two compartments: the upper part is the freezer, the lower part the fridge. The cooling strength can be adjusted with the dial at the top right inside the lower door.
Environment and waste
We care about the environment – please help us! If the bin fills up during your stay, you can put the tied rubbish bags in the large bins in the courtyard of the estate. Extra bin bags are in the bottom drawer on the right in the lower part of the kitchen cupboard.

- Kányavári Island (Kis-Balaton): just a few minutes from Garabonc lies the most beautiful freely accessible part of the Kis-Balaton. Cross the iconic wooden bridge to the “Great Crested Grebe” nature trail and lookout towers – perfect for a quiet, meditative walk.
- Forester's Lookout and Snail Trail: on a clear day you can see as far as Lake Balaton from the wooden lookout tower in the Zalakaros forest park. The trail winding through the trees, with its fresh air and resting places, is truly refreshing.
- Kápolnapuszta Buffalo Reserve: walk among hundreds of water buffalo and Hungarian grey cattle on the vast open pastures – a fascinating experience close to nature.
- Kőszikla Gorge (Nagybakónak): recommended for more experienced hikers – a wild, hidden gorge with ladders and rocks, far from mass tourism.
